Job Summary

The Senior Python developer is a part of the multi-functional Blueface Technology Team and is instrumental in the full software development life-cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, requirement gathering, design and development through to deployment and post-release. The role has scope to evolve based on the candidate’s desire to learn and become involved in other technical fields. This position would have more experience and responsibility in ongoing projects than a standard back end developer.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and test algorithms to solve complex business problems.
• Design and build complex data to support new business initiatives.
• Employ the latest techniques such as Agile Software Development.
• Writing the web services and APIs used by developers and mobile application developers
• Server-side web application logic as well as the integration of front-end part aspects

Preferred Skills:

• Python proficiency is essential
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
• Git
• Celery
• Redis
• Experience with RabbitMQ or another AMQP broker
• Relational database systems. E.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Python web frameworks. eg Flask, Django
• Python object-relational mapping libraries. eg sqlalchemy, storm
• Agile Software Development (tools like Jira, etc)
• Exceptional Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
• Proven Experience Developing for LINUX
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced development schedule
